JR Fenn is from the Central Appalachians and has since lived all over the world. Her writing has appeared in Boston Review, Gulf Coast, DIAGRAM, PANK, Versal, and Flash: The International Short-Short Story Magazine, among other places. A Tin House alum whose work has been supported by organizations such as Disquiet International, the Key West Literary Seminar, Writing by Writers, and the Orion Environmental Writers' Workshop, she holds a PhD in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University and an MFA in Fiction from Syracuse University. JR teaches Environmental Writing and Fiction at the College of Environmental Science and Forestry at the State University of New York. She lives with her family in western New York, where she is finishing her first novel.
